Baijal et al., 2021 · BMC Gastroenterology
Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial; n=47; participants with lactose intolerance
Participants with lactose intolerance who received a lactase supplement alongside a lactose challenge showed statistically significant reductions in breath hydrogen production and symptom scores (bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea) compared to those who received placebo; the crossover design allowed within-subject comparison across both treatment conditions.
Shaukat et al., 2010 · Annals of Internal Medicine
Systematic review of RCTs; multiple randomized controlled trials included; participants with lactose intolerance
A systematic review found that participants with lactose intolerance who received lactase enzyme supplementation with dairy intake showed statistically significant reductions in bloating, flatulence, and diarrhea compared to those who did not receive lactase enzyme; the evidence was rated as moderate-quality with some heterogeneity in dosing protocols across included trials.

How it works
Here's what's in this bottle - and why each ingredient earned its place in the formula.

An enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of lactose, the sugar found in dairy, into its component monosaccharides glucose and galactose, which the small intestine can then absorb. Without sufficient lactase activity, undigested lactose passes to the large intestine where it is fermented by bacteria.
At 9,000 FCC Lactase Units per tablet, this formula is dosed for a full dairy-containing meal. FCC units (Food Chemicals Codex) are the standard measure of lactase activity, not milligrams, which don't reflect how much lactose the enzyme can actually process.
